Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident near Chronicle Road

SPOKANE, WA (February 1, 2022) – Saturday night, officials arrested 40-year-old Michael Schuk, after a pedestrian crash on Sprauge Avenue.

The accident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. on January 15, at the intersection of Sprague Avenue and Chronicle Road.

Investigators believe Schuk was driving his van when he collided with a woman crossing the roadway. Medics arrived shortly after and rushed the woman to the hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, Schuk stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Police later confirmed that the woman died as a result of her injuries. WSP will release her name at a later date, pending notification of next of kin.

Furthermore, officers believed Schuk was impaired and obtained a search warrant for a blood sample. Officers eventually arrested Schuk and charged him with vehicular homicide.
