Two Dead after Fatal Wrong-Way Collision near Highland Avenue

HIGHLAND, CA (February 1, 2022) – A head-on crash on Highway 330 killed Andrea Lynn Hilscher and Jessica Baltierra Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, the collision occurred in the northbound lanes of the highway around 1:15 p.m., near Highland Avenue.

California Highway Patrol officers claimed that the driver of a southbound 2013 Blue Hyundai Accent veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a northbound 2009 Green Toyota Prius.

Consequently, the Toyota driver lost control and slid down the right shoulder embankment.

The coroner’s office later identified both drivers, 38-year-old Hilscher, of Arrowbear and 26-year-old Baltierra of San Bernardino, dead at the scene.

At this time, Highland Officials are still working to identify further circumstances surrounding the deadly wrong-way collision.
