Male Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Crash on Interstate 805 [San Diego, CA]

Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Market Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 27, 2022) – A unnamed man lost his life Friday evening, in a fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate 805.

The fatal collision happened around 6:15 p.m., on the northbound side of 805 Freeway, just south of Market Street.

California Highway Patrol confirmed the male pedestrian died after a vehicle struck him on the freeway. Although, officials said it is unknown why the man was the freeway on foot at the time.

At this point, police have not confirmed the identity of the victim pending notification of kin.

Authorities later stated that it is still unknown whether the crash was caused by speed, drugs, or alcohol. However, an investigation is currently underway.
