2 Motorcyclists Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Auberry road [Fresno, CA]
Two Riders Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Collision near Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club
FRESNO, CA (January 21, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, two male motorcyclists were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Auberry Road.
The collision happened around 3:30 p.m., near the Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club.
According to police, two motorcyclists were traveling south on Auberry Road when they crossed into the opposing lane in an effort to pass other automobiles.
There, one of the bikers crashed into an oncoming Subaru SUV head-on. To avoid striking the second motorcycle, the Subaru driver veered left and collided with a black pickup truck, but the rider was “redirected” and struck the pickup-truck.
Consequently, the 54-year-old and 25-year-old motorcyclists from Clovis both succumbed to their injuries. Both men were wearing helmets and had dashed lines on the sides. Officers say it was legal, but it was a dangerous stretch of road.
In addition, the SUV driver obtained non-life-threatening injuries while the pickup-truck driver remained unharmed.
Upon investigation, the drivers of the pickup-truck and the SUV were traveling in their correct lanes. An active investigation is still currently underway.
