Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Collision on Rural Road

TEMPE, AZ (January 20, 2022) – Early Friday morning, a woman was fatally struck in a deadly pedestrian crash on Warner Road.

The fatal collision happened on the Rural Road and Warner Road intersection around 5:30 a.m.

According to authorities, a male driver in his 80’s lost control of his vehicle while heading south on the road. Eventually, the vehicle ended up in the northbound lanes before crashing into a nearby bus stop.

A female pedestrian was waiting at the bus stop, and was struck by the driver. Paramedics immediately responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on the severely injured pedestrian.

Due to the extent of her condition, the woman was later pronounced dead by medics at the scene.
