16-Year-Old Boy Dead after DUI Collision near Watmaugh Road
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (January 20, 2022) – Sunday morning, officials arrested Manessis Alexander after a fatal DUI crash on State Route 116.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:13 a.m., near Watmaugh Road.
Alexander was driving a 2017 Cadillac west on the highway while passing cars over double yellow lines. The Cadillac then struck two eastbound vehicles head-on, an Infiniti SUV and a Ford F-350.
Shortly after, Alexander also drove into the path of a fourth vehicle.
Officers arrived at the scene and located the Cadillac driver trapped inside with major injuries.
Moreover, one of his passengers, identified as a 16-year-old male, died at the scene while another male of the same age sustained significant injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the second vehicle suffered from minor injuries as paramedics transported her to Marin General Hospital. The driver of the fourth vehicle also sustained minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.
California Highway Patrol officers later arrested the Cadillac driver, identified as 24-year-old Manessis Alexander for suspicion of felony DUI.
At this time, the deadly crash is still under active investigation.
