1 Killed, 1 Injured in Semi-Truck Accident near Alamo Drive
VACAVILLE, CA (January 19, 2022) – A crash on Interstate 80 killed Robert Marmolejo and left a Fairfield woman injured early Monday.
The collision occurred around 5:00 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near Alamo Drive.
According to reports, the driver a westbound Toyota Sienna switched lanes and struck the right rear of a trailer being pulled by a Freightliner.
Consequently, the Toyota overturned several times, ejecting the driver and his 44-year-old female passenger.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the Toyota driver and his passenger to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.
Due to the extent of his condition, 43-year-old Marmolejo succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, medical personnel treated his female passenger for major injuries.
At this time, Vacaville Officials are still currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact California Highway Patrol at 1-800-835-5247.
