Male Pedestrian Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 15 [Wildomar, CA]

Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Wildomar Trail

WILDOMAR, CA (January 13, 2022) – Monday morning, a male pedestrian was killed in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 15.

According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred around 10:40 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the highway just south of Wildomar Trail.

Officers later pointed out that a man was standing along the shoulder of the freeway for an unknown period of time as vehicles passed. Eventually, a 2016 Freightliner truck approached and the man “ran into the right side of the vehicle’s trailer”.

As a result, the semi-truck driver hit the pedestrian, sending him into the No. 3 lane on the northbound side. The semi-truck driver, described as a 61-year-old Victorville resident, immediately pulled over to render aid.

Responding paramedics declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene, due to the extent of his injuries.

Additionally, Wildomar Officials shut down the No. 2 and 3 lanes for three hours on I-15 to investigate. Police are asking anyone with information about the semi-truck crash to contact CHP Temecula Office at 951-506-2000.
