Four Seriously Injured in Car Crash on 10 Freeway [West Covina, CA]

4 Victims Hurt in Three-Vehicle Collision near Holt Avenue

WEST COVINA, CA (January 14, 2022) – A car crash on 10 Freeway involving 3 vehicles left four people with major injuries Friday night.

The incident happened around 11:41 p.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway just east of Holt Avenue.

According to reports, a 25-year-old man in a 2020 Kia Optima rear-ended a 2007 Ford Expedition. Consequently, the SUV lost control and struck the center divider wall.

As a result, the Optima spun out along the traffic lanes and hit a 2022 Toyota Highlander.

Paramedics transported the Kia driver along with a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman to Pomona Valley Hospital Regional Medical Center for major injuries.

Responders also took a male passenger from the Highlander with serious injuries to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center.

Furthermore, a 36-year-old woman was also sent to a local hospital for complaints of pain. Her passenger, another unidentified man, sustained minor abrasions to his chest.

Meanwhile, the occupants of the Expedition remain uninjured.

Officials later charged the Optima driver. The CHP Baldwin Park office is asking anyone with information about the I-10 crash to contact 626-338-1164.
