Three Killed, Five Injured in Two-Car Collision near 40th Street
PHOENIX, AZ (January 11, 2022) – Saturday night, three people were killed and five were hurt in a rollover accident on Loop 202.
According to reports, the two-vehicle rollover crash took place on the eastbound lanes of the highway around 8:50 p.m., near 40th Street.
At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, paramedics responded and pronounced three people dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, crews transported five others to a nearby hospital for further treatment of serious injuries. Although, authorities have not yet identified those involved.
Following preliminary duties, investigators say impairment is likely a factor in the deadly collision. However, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.
