Fatal Two-Vehicle Car Crash on State Route 79 in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 7, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, one person was killed and another was injured in a car accident on San Felipe Road.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 2:50 p.m., near mile marker 1100.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that two vehicles were involved.

Additionally, paramedics responded and pronounced one unidentified man dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Moreover, another occupant sustained injuries and was taken to Palomar Center for further treatment.

At this time, the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain unclear. San Diego County Officials closed San Felipe Road until 4:15 pm to investigate the incident.
