2 Drivers Killed in Car Collision on Rialto Avenue [San Bernardino, CA]
Two-Vehicle Crash near Macy Street Left Two Casualties
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 30, 2021) – Early Sunday morning, two drivers died following a two-car collision on Rialto Avenue.
The crash happened around 2:00 a.m., on Rialto Avenue near Macy Street and Meridian Avenue.
Furthermore, reports indicated that a 34-year-old Highland man was driving a 1997 Mercedes-Benz at high speeds and lost control. He then crossed the double yellow line, directly into oncoming traffic.
Meanwhile, a 64-year-old Yucaipa man driving a 2006 Honda Civic was heading east on Rialto Avenue and broadsided the Mercedes.
The impact of the collision caused the Mercedes to split in half and ejected the driver onto the road. Due to the impact, officials pronounced both drivers dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.
At this time, California Highway Patrol officers are still withholding the identity of the deceased until their families are notified.
