Male Pedestrian Critically Injured in Collision near Peak Drive

LAS VEGAS, NV (December 28, 2021) – Monday evening, a man in a wheelchair was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Rainbow Boulevard.

According to authorities, the accident occurred in West Valley around 5:00 p.m. Officers arrived at the intersection of Rainbow and Peak Drive shortly after.

Per reports, the driver of a Kia was heading north in the left lane of Rainbow Drive. Meanwhile, a 44-year-old man in a wheelchair was crossing the street within a marked crosswalk when the two collided.

Investigators say the front of the vehicle hit the man, consequently ejecting him onto the roadway.

Paramedics transported the male pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. However, there has been no update on his current condition.

At this time, impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the collision. Although, the crash is still currently under investigation.
