Auto Accident on Embarcadero Road Left Pet Dog Dead, Two Injured

PALO ALTO, CA (December 3, 2021) – A police pursuit ended in a crash on Embarcadero Road, leaving two people injured and their dog euthanized.

According to the police, officers came across an illegal slideshow around 1:00 a.m. near Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve.

Afterwards, the officer turned on their lights and sirens and four vehicles began to flee from the scene. Consequently, a red Chevy Camaro ended up striking a police vehicle as they fled. Shortly after, they slammed into a tree at the 1900 block of Embarcadero Road.

Eventually, the Palo Alto Fire Department responded to assist the driver and passenger with their injuries. According to medics, a man and a woman in their 20s were severely injured and taken into intensive care.

Moreover, a small dog inside the vehicle sustained major injuries from the crash and had to be euthanized.

Authorities stated that they did not pursue the three other drivers after the initial crash. At this time, Palo Alto Officials continue to investigate the Embarcadero Road crash.
