2 Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident on 1st Avenue [Normandy Park, WA]
Two Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Collision on 1st Avenue
NORMANDY PARK, WA (December 1, 2021) – Friday night, at least two people were injured in a hit-and-run accident on 1st Avenue.
According to authorities, the initial crash happened around 10:15 p.m., when one car rear-ended another. Eventually, the driver fled the scene to 16000 1st Avenue South.
After the initial crash, the second vehicle chased the suspect car in attempt to get a license plate. There, one of the occupants in the suspect car fired rounds at them.
Fortunately, officials said no one from the second vehicle sustained injuries, while, the hit-and-run driver lost control and crashed in front of the Normandy Park Ale House.
The driver attempted to flee the scene. Although, officers were able to detain them and bring them into custody.
Responding medics found two passengers trapped in the suspect’s car, and took them to a local hospital for treatment.
Moreover, officials said one passenger was 13-years-old. However, authorities did not release their name or place of residency.
Police expect the second passenger, who suffered self-inflicted gunshot wounds, to be booked into jail after their release from treatment.
At this time, an active investigation remains ongoing.
