Wrong-Way Crash on Eagle Lakes Road Left Brittney Montano, Antonia Montano, 2 Children Dead
CRYSTAL LAKE, CA (November 29, 2021) – A wrong-way crash on Eagle Lakes Road took the life of Brittney Montano, Antonia Montano and two children Saturday morning.
According to authorities, they received a 911 call about the crash around 5:00 a.m.
Initially, investigators pointed out that the crash on Interstate 80 involved three vehicles including an incident that happened minutes later near the same road.
The CHP claimed that a jeep driver travelled on the wrong side of the road and collided with a sedan occupied by a family.
Following the initial crash, police said a red pickup struck both immobilized vehicles at the scene.
According to the first responders, the driver of the pickup suffered from minor injuries. Due to the impact of the crash, both parents and two of the three children died from the crash.
California Highway Patrol officers believe that alcohol contributed to the incident.
Authorities later identified the two deceased adults as Brittney Montano and Antonia Montano, both 29-years-old.
At this time, officers are continuing to investigate the Eagle Lakes Road multi-vehicle crash.
