Deadly 3-Vehicle Accident on 60 Freeway [Tempe, AZ]
1 Killed, 3 Injured in Fatal Rollover Collision near South Priest Drive
TEMPE, AZ (November 11, 2021) – Monday, a woman was killed and three people were injured in a deadly three-vehicle accident on 60 Freeway.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area of 60 Freeway, near Priest Drive.
According to reports, the driver of a Kia Sorrento slammed head-on into the center divider. The vehicle then rolled over, sending debris across the road. Some of the wreckage landed on top of a nearby Tesla.
Shortly after, the driver of a pickup-truck struck both the Kia and the Tesla.
A passenger inside the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene, due to the impact of the collision. Officers described the deceased victim as a woman in her 70s.
In addition, the driver of the Kia suffered life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, medics treated two others who were suffering from minor injuries.
The westbound lanes of the freeway were reopened following cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. However, an active investigation into the accident on 60 Freeway is still currently underway.
