Police Searching for Hit-and-Run Crash Driver that Killed 2 Men on Interstate 80
SACRAMENTO, CA (Oct 7, 2021) – Authorities still looking for the driver of a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 80 last Monday that killed Donald Charlesworth Jr. and Donald Charlesworth III.
CHP received a report at 6:05 p.m. regarding an accident on westbound Interstate 80 west of Madison Avenue. Officers on the scene discovered that the accident included a green GMC pickup truck, a Nissan Sentra, and a Ford F-150.
According to accounts, the Ford and Nissan were disabled before to the incident on the right shoulder of the road, and both a 26-year-old man and a 63-year-old man were standing near the stalled cars when the green pickup truck hit them.
The GMC then returned to traffic and collided with a Honda Pilot that was also heading westbound.
Responding officers pronounced the 26-year-old dead at the scene.
While, paramedics took the 63-year-old man to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities now identified the victims as father and son, Donald Charlesworth Jr. 63, and Donald Charlesworth III, 26 from Sacramento.
At this time, CHP said the cause of the crash remain unknown. Officers described the suspect driver as a balding male who was wearing blue jeans, no shirt and had tattoos.
