I-15 Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills Chula Vista Woman
SABRE SPRINGS, CA (September 28, 2021) – A multi-vehicle crash on I-15 claimed the life of Chula Vista woman and injured the suspected hit-and-run driver.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigations revealed that a 30-year-old driver lost control of his Ford pickup and collided with a Toyota sedan on the northbound side of the 15 freeway near State Route 56.
Afterwards, a Kia sedan crashed into the pickup as it skidded to stop in the roadway.
However, the authorities said the Ford driver exited from his damaged vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Meanwhile, medical personnel transported the 55-year-old Chula Vista woman from the Toyota to a trauma center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
In addition, paramedics also took the male driver of the Kia to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Later on, the San Diego police located the fleeing driver lying unconscious in a nearby neighborhood. The CHP claimed that the Ford driver sustained severe injuries.
At this time, the officials continue to withhold the identities of the involved parties.
The authorities are currently investigating the multi-vehicle crash on I-15.
