Horse Killed, Teen Injured in Crash on East Harding Road [Turlock, CA]
Turlock Crash Involving a Truck and a Horse Left a Teen Rider Injured
TURLOCK, CA (August 20, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a crash in Turlock that left a 19-year-old on a horse injured last Wednesday in Turlock.
According to the investigators, the horse was traveling westbound along the edge of East Harding Road.
Meanwhile, the Chevy pickup was believed to be going northbound on Youngstown Road, that turns into E. Harding Road.
Eventually, the pick-up driver admitted to looking away from the road for a brief moment to reach for something inside the vehicle.
However, he spotted a teen riding a horse as he looked back up and made a quick sharp turn to the left.
As a result, the pick-up truck rotated counterclockwise and struck the horse, sending the teen off the roadway, Turlock police said.
Unfortunately, the horse died from it’s injuries. The Stanislaus County Animal Services took possession of the dead horse afterwards.
Meanwhile, medical personnel transported the teen to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The pick-up driver remained unharmed.
Turlock Authorities are currently investigating the crash.
