Hit-And-Run Driver Drags Victim Under  Vehicle near Gas Station on Foothill Boulevard

SYLMAR, CA (August 18, 2021) – Sylmar police are searching for a hit-and-run driver that dragged and killed Anthony Hurd underneath their vehicle along Foothill Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 12:45 A.M. Foothill Boulevard near Hubbard Street, according to Los Angeles Police.

Upon further investigation, officials determined the suspect driving northbound struck a pedestrian crossing the road.

Afterwards, the driver continued on Foothill while dragging the pedestrian underneath their vehicle.

Eventually, the driver backed up the vehicle to a gas station and fled the scene before the authorities arrived.

Unfortunately, the first responders declared the man, identified as Anthony Hurd, dead at the scene after suffering multiple injuries.

The Sylmar Officials are encouraging anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact Officer Garibay at 818-644-8033, Detective Wade at 818-644-8036 or LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.

At the time, the LAPD claimed that the suspect was driving a gray or silver four-door sedan Toyota or Kia.
