Woman Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Western Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]

One Person Dead after DUI Crash on Western Avenue near Eighth Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 9, 2021) – An unidentified woman killed in DUI crash on Western Avenue near Eighth Street on Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. On August 5, in the Koreatown neighborhood, on Western Avenue near Eighth Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was driving at a high rate of speed when she apparently swerved to avoid a car ahead of her that had stopped for a yellow flashing traffic signal.

Paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital, where she succumbed from her injuries.

At this time, officials have not released the deceased’s name, age, or city of residence.

Authorities believe alcohol played a role. However, an active investigation is still underway.
