Man Dies in Fatal Car Crash on Orange Freeway

ANAHEIM, CA (July 27, 2021) – A 30-year-old man lost his life Wednesday morning after a fatal crash on Orange Freeway in Anaheim.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m, on July 14. Dispatchers arrived on Orange (57) Freeway, near Ball Road shortly after.

According to reports, a man was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla that slammed into the rear of a big rig tractor trailer truck on the freeway.

The driver of the truck told officers that he was entering the freeway from Ball Road when he saw the Corolla enter the far right lane going at a high rate of speed.

As a result, the truck driver veered right to avoid striking the Corolla which clipped the truck’s trailer. The Corolla ended up trapped underneath the trailer.

Paramedics pronounced the Corolla driver dead at the scene while the truck driver escaped the accident uninjured.

At this time, officials have not released any further information about the fatal crash. However, an active investigation is still underway.
