Oceanside Hit-And-Run Driver Kills Bicyclist

OCEANSIDE, CA (July 23, 2021) – A hit-and-run driver claimed the life of 27-year-old bicyclist Jackson Williams, on Thursday.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m., in the eastbound lane of Oceanside Boulevard, just west of Interstate 5.

Officers believe that Williams was struck from behind while riding his bike eastbound on Oceanside Boulevard.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist sustained major head trauma and died at the scene. Police later identified him as Jackson Williams, of Carlsbad.

Witnesses told police that they had seen a dark-colored vehicle flee east on Oceanside Boulevard underneath the I-5. Officers mentioned the description of the suspect’s vehicle: a black Nissan Versa, made between 2014 and 2016.

Moreover, authorities were able to identity the vehicle using the debris left from the collision. However, the hit-and-run suspect still currently remains at large.
