Car Collision Involving WSDOT Truck Results in Injuries
YAKIMA COUNTY, WA (July 2, 2021) – Authorities identified Abraham Guadarrama, 27, who crashed into a truck on Interstate 82 Thursday morning.
The crash happened around 9:47 a.m., on I-82 just west of Sunnyside.
According to reports, Guadarrama crashed into the impact attenuator attached to the back of the truck, for still unknown reasons.
Rescuers took one WSDOT worker to Astria Sunnyside Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
At this time, the WSP stated Guadarrama has pending charges as a result of the collision.
In addition, officials said alcohol or drugs may also have been a factor. However, this crash remains under investigation.
