Jene Douglas Dies in Fatal Crash on Highway 247 [Lucerne Valley, CA]

49-Year-Old Woman Killed in Deadly Two-Vehicle Crash near Visalia Avenue

LUCERNE VALLEY, CA (June 18, 2021) – Jene Douglas, 49, of Lucerne Valley, died Saturday afternoon after a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 247.

The accident happened around 4:13 p.m., June 12, just west of Visalia Avenue. Emergency crews arrived to the crash shortly after.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Jeep collided with a pickup truck, possibly head-on. However, the events leading up remain unknown.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they discovered two heavily damaged pickup trucks. Due to the impact of the crash, Douglas was later pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition, medics airlifted a second critically injured person to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

At this time, no additional information has been released. The California Highway Patrol is still conducting an active investigation into the crash.
