Apple Valley Crash Leaves Woman and 5-Month-Old Baby Dead
APPLE VALLEY, CA (June 11, 2021) – Monday, a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of Jasmine Amesquita and 5-month-old Ragnar Segovia in Apple Valley.
According to CHP, the crash occurred around 2:23 p.m., in the area of Deep Creek Road and Poppy Road. Furthermore, the crash involved a Ford Crown Victoria and a Toyota Corolla.
The events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, the Toyota was heading south on Deep Creek Road when the driver veered into the northbound lanes and struck the Ford head-on.
Investigators say 5-month-old Ragnar Segovia and 23-year-old Jasmine Amesquita were both inside the Toyota. Also in the Toyota was a 24-year-old man, a 4-year-old boy, and a 2-year-old boy.
Eventually, crews arrived and pronounced Jasmine Amesquita and her baby Ragnar Segovia from Apple Valley, dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the male driver of the Toyota sustained major injuries and paramedics airlifted him to Loma Linda Medical Center.
The 49-year-old female driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries. She was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
Moreover, the 3 younger passengers of the Toyota suffered from minor injuries and the responders airlifted them as well.
At this time, the CHPl continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
