44-Year-Old Big Rig Driver Injured and 4 Killed in Lancaster Fatal Big Rig Collision
LANCASTER, CA (June 8, 2021) – Friday morning, 44-year-old Santos Torres was injured in a fatal accident that killed four people.
The fatal accident occurred around 9:11 a.m., in the area of East Avenue G and North 30th Street.
According to CHP, a 62-year-old woman driving a 2019 Dodge Challenger was traveling west on Avenue G. Meanwhile, a 2017 Peterbilt truck was heading east when the two vehicles collided head-on.
Medics found the 62-year-old female driver dead on the scene. A 59-year-old passenger was flown to Holy Cross Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Two boys, ages 6 and 9, died from their injuries in the hospital.
Torres, on the other hand, suffered minor injuries in the accident. Paramedics also airlifted a 5-year-old male child with serious injuries to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
CHP had not revealed the identities of the victims as of yet, pending notification of their next of kin.
Authorities are still looking into why the Dodge was driving on the wrong side of the road. Once available, more information will be released.
