State Route 67 Crash Leaves One Fatality

SANTEE, CA (May 11, 2021) – Santee authorities are investigating a car crash on State Route 67 that killed a woman on Friday.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 11:45 p.m., on Woodside Avenue and Creekside Court.

Upon arrival, the authorities discovered the wreckage resting at the shoulder of the highway.

Further investigation revealed a male driver of a station wagon veered off state Route 67 and crashed into a parked car.

As a result, the female passenger of the station wagon died at the scene. Her identity remains unavailable pending notification of next of kin.

However, the driver only sustained minor injuries from the crash. Responders transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The California Highway Patrol is looking into the circumstances surrounding the fatal car crash on State Route 67. In addition, authorities are identifying whether intoxication contributed to the crash.
