Kevin May Arrested after DUI Crash on Interstate 15 [Temecula, CA]
47-Year-Old DUI Driver Arrested Following Fiery Multi-Car Temecula Crash on I-15
TEMECULA, CA (April 27, 2021) – Kevin May was arrested for DUI following a fiery multi-car crash on Interstate 15, Thursday afternoon.
The fatal accident happened around 12:30 p.m., on April 22. Emergency crews arrived along southbound I-15 near Overland Drive.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash. A 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by a 47-year-old Bloomington resident was stopped for traffic near Rancho California Road.
In addition, a 2015 Toyota Prius was traveling directly behind the trailer and also came to a stop. Then, a 2016 HINO bob tail/box truck failed to stop and rear-ended the Prius.
Due to the impact of the crash, both the tractor and the Toyota went up in flames. The burning sedan also became trapped between the other two vehicles.
As a result, the Prius driver died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identity.
Meanwhile, the big rig driver, a 47-year-old resident from Fontana, did not sustain any injuries.
As for Kevin May, he only sustained minor injuries. Paramedics took him to a local hospital for examination. CHP later arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
No further details have been given at this time.
