43-Year-Old Homeless Woman Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run on Roberts Avenue, Police Say It Was Intentional
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 13, 2021) – 43-year-old Kellie Jones died following a hit-and-run collision on Roberts Avenue, Tuesday night.
The tragic incident happened in a homeless camp in Santa Rosa around 9:50 p.m., on March 23.
According to reports, two men were arguing in the area when one of them jumped into his car and drove towards the homeless camp.
Police believed the man intentionally drove and struck the other male party. Additionally, he also struck a woman who was standing in front of a tent nearby.
First responders found the woman pinned underneath the car upon arrival. Crews worked tirelessly to free the victim. However, the woman died.
Meanwhile, the other male party sustained injuries to his legs.
After the crash, Clifford Adams,53, immediately fled the scene.
Officials eventually later captured Adams on Walnut Avenue, south of Madison Avenue, at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 30. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide.
The family and friends of Kellie Jones made a GoFundMe account to help for her burial expenses.
