Multi-Car Crash on Interstate 5 Kills Brayand Cambell-Davilla
CARLSBAD, CA (April 13, 2021) – Sunday morning, a multi-car crash on Interstate 5 killed 23-year old Brayand Cambell-Davilla.
According to CHP, the crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. Emergency crews arrived shortly after being dispatched to the scene.
Cambell-Davilla was driving a northbound 2008 Hyundai Elantra, just south of the Tamarack Avenue interchange. For reasons unknown, he suddenly veered to the left and struck the center median.
As a result, his vehicle spun out of control and re-entered the freeway where it came to rest. Amidst the chaos, Cambell-Davilla was ejected from the Hyundai. In addition, two other northbound vehicles struck the 23-year-old driver.
Later, a medical examiner identified the driver as Brayand Cambell-Davilla, a resident from Imperial Beach, who died at the scene. Meanwhile, the paramedics treated the two other drivers at the scene that sustained minor injuries.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation by the authorities. The CHP Oceanside office is encouraging anyone with useful information about the crash to call at (760) 643-3400.
