73-Year-Old Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident near Mendota in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (February 25, 2021) – On Tuesday of February 16th, 73-year-old Aristeo Castro was fatally injured in a head-on crash on Highway 180.

The incident took place around 11:15 a.m. According to reports, a Ford pickup-truck was speeding down the westbound lanes when a tire blew out.

As a result, the driver lost control and swerved into the eastbound lanes. There, the driver struck Castro’s vehicle head-on.

Due to the impact of the collision, Castro was pronounced dead on scene. As for the driver of the Ford, their injuries remain unknown.

Further details regarding the accident have not yet been provided. Although, an active investigation is still ongoing.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the identity of the Ford driver.

The accident caused traffic delays, but the road is now open. More information will be given to the public once available.
