Ray Pittman Arrested after Multi-Car DUI Crash on Palm Avenue [Fresno, CA]

Multiple Hospitalized after Semi-Truck Accident near Belmont Avenue in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (February 23, 2021) – Sunday evening, 47-year-old Ray Pittman was arrested after a multi-car DUI crash on Palm and Belmont Avenue.

California Highway Patrol responded to the collision just before 8:00 p.m. According to reports, a semi-truck was turning onto southbound Palm when a westbound black sedan slowed down to give it room.

There, Pittman’s SUV rear-ended the sedan. The impact then pushed the sedan into the back of the semi-truck. As a result, the mother and her 3-year-old twins inside the sedan – a boy and a girl – sustained injuries.

Paramedics transported all three occupants in the sedan to a nearby hospital. Medics say the boy was listed in critical condition. However, the mother and the girl had only moderate injuries.

Fresno Police gave Pittman a breathalyzer at the scene and determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol at more than twice the legal limit. They arrested and booked him into Fresno County Jail for DUI.

An active investigation to determine further details remains ongoing.
