Pilot Found Dead after Plane Wreck near Oak Creek Road [Tehachapi, CA]
Unidentified Pilot Killed in Plane Accident just West of Tehachapi Willow Springs Road
TEHACHAPI, CA (February 18, 2021) – Monday morning, an unidentified pilot was found dead after a reported plane wreck near Oak Creek Road.
According to reports, the wreckage was found in the rocky terrain west of Tehachapi Willow Springs Road, south of Oak Creek Road. Investigators believe the crash initially occurred on February 13th.
Deputies first began their search on Valentine’s Day after receiving reports of a missing aircraft that had gone missing in the Tehachapi area. The following day, around 8:40 a.m., the sheriff’s search and rescue team found the plane and the deceased pilot.
At this time, the National Transportation Safety Board is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine further details.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after the family has been notified. Once available, more information will be released.
