Car Crashes into Building on Cornelia Avenue in Fresno
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 4, 2021) – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Lincoln Avenue, Monday January 18.
California Highway Patrol first responded to the two-car crash around 4:30 p.m.
According to reports, a southbound silver Mazda failed to stop at a stop sign on Cornelia Avenue. Shortly after, the Mazda broadsided an eastbound gray Maserati on Lincoln Avenue.
Due to the impact of the collision, the Maserati spun out of control. The Maserati then slammed into an abandoned building.
Emergency crews later transported four people – the Maserati driver, his two passengers, and the Mazda driver – to Community Regional Medical Center. Medics say all victims sustained minor to moderate injuries.
At this time, authorities have not yet released the names of the victims. In addition, CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the accident.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
