Carlos Uriarte Killed in Car Accident near 55th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]

Fatal Red-Light Accident near Indian School Road in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ (January 14, 2021) — Carlos Uriarte, 38, died in a car accident near an intersection in Phoenix on Tuesday, December 29.

The Phoenix police said the crash took place at about 10 p.m., near 55th Avenue and Indian School Road junction.

Uriarte was operating a brown Chevy S10 southbound on 55th Avenue when he collided with an eastbound tan Jeep Cherokee.

The impact of the collision caused Uriarte fatal injuries. Medical responders transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. However, he was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the driver and the passengers of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.

Based on initial findings, impairment was not a factor in the crash. However, Uriarte was going against a red traffic light when he collided with the Jeep, the officers said.

At this time, the investigation of this crash is ongoing.
