The crash happened around 10:00 p.m. in the 1400 block of East Highland Avenue at Mountain Avenue.
According to San Bernardino police, a Honda Accord was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed, when it drifted into the westbound lanes of traffic. It traveled over the northeast curb at Highland Avenue and Mountain Avenue and struck a metal pole in a parking lot.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene and found Casas suffering from critical injuries. They provided aid before transported him to a local hospital.
