KINGS COUNTY, CA (January 5, 2021) – A woman was killed and a man was injured in a rollover crash Tuesday last week in Kings County.
The crash happened around 5:50 p.m. on Highway 198 near 2nd Avenue.
CHP officials a 1998 Toyota, driven by 51-year-old Saul Ceja of Armona, was traveling westbound on the highway. The front end of a 2017 Hyundai approaching from behind clipped the rear bumper of the Toyota.
The Hyundai, driven by 27-year-old Rayshon Espiritu of Visalia, was traveling over the speed limit.
The initial impact sent both vehicles off the roadway in a northwesterly direction. The Toyota overturned multiple times and came to rest on its left side.
The female passenger of the Toyota sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was only described as a 56-year-old Armona woman.
The Hyundai remained upright throughout the collision and came to rest near the Toyota in an orchard.
