Travis Foster and Sofie Ingram Involved in Fatal Crash on NM 467
CURRY COUNTY, NM (January 14, 2021) — 85-year-old Travis Foster of Portales died in a head-on collision on New Mexico State Road 467 early Wednesday morning.
According to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and paramedics responded to the incident at about 6:43 a.m. They found two vehicles that collided head-on at milepost 13 when they reached the scene.
A preliminary investigation showed that 27-year-old Sofie Ingram was driving westbound on New Mexico State Road 467. Meanwhile, a second vehicle driven by Foster was eastbound on the highway.
For reasons still unknown, Foster’s vehicle crossed left of the center several times before crashing head-on with Ingram’s vehicle.
Officials said Foster passed away at the scene. Ingram, a resident of Clovis, did not report any injuries.
Whether impairment, a medical emergency, or speed was a factor in the crash remains unknown at this time. However, the authorities are conducting further investigation.
