Nicolas Peterson Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Coffee Road [BAKERSFIELD, CA]
Jonathan Deal Critically Injured in Bakersfield Motorcycle Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 10, 2021) – Nicolas Peterson, 13, died in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon in Bakersfield.
The crash happened around 12:59 p.m. at the intersection of Coffee and Hageman roads.
According to police, Peterson was riding a motorcycle with his stepfather Jonathan Deal when they collided with an SUV. The impact ejected both from the bike.
Arriving units found Peterson and Deal with major injuries. Peterson died at the scene.
Paramedics transported Deal to Kern Medical Center, before being airlifted to Loma Linda hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Tiffiny Deal, the boy’s mother knew something was wrong when she noticed the pair was taking a long time to return from church, according to Peterson’s aunt Brandee Coffia.
Peterson was in 7th grade at Fruitvale Junior High. He leaves behind two sisters, 15-year-old Abby and 12 year-old Emily.
This fatal crash is still under investigation.
