Fatal Roswell Collision near Union Avenue

 
ROSWELL, NM (January 13, 2021) — A 31-year-old woman died and two others sustained injuries in a head-on collision near Union Avenue and College Boulevard Thursday morning.
 
The incident happened in a residential neighborhood on December 24 between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. according to the Roswell Police Department.
 
One of the involved vehicles, an SUV, rammed through a brick wall outside a house. This left the driver trapped inside the SUV, requiring extrication from the responding firefighters.
 
After extrication, medical personnel took the person to a hospital for treatment of injuries of unknown injuries. It was not clear, however, whether the patient was the 31-year-old woman.
 
The second vehicle, which sustained severe damage, remained on the roadway.
 
Based on initial findings, one of the vehicles collided with another vehicle near Union Avenue and 19th Street moments earlier.
 
Meanwhile, the cause and full details of how the crash occurred remain under investigation by the RPD.
