Motorcyclist Baldemar Bermudez Arrested After Leaving Scene of Multi-Vehicle Crash near Napa
NAPA, CA (December 18, 2020) – The authorities arrested Baldemar Bermudez of Sonoma following a hit-and-run at Highway 29 and Highway 12 on Friday.
The incident happened at about 8:40 p.m. in south Napa. Bermudez was riding a motorcycle northbound on Highway 29 when he rear-ended a car stopped at the intersection with Highway 12. The impact triggered a chain-reaction crash that involved a third vehicle.
Bermudez left the scene of the crash but officers were able to pull him over on Highway 121 at Stanly Lane. They subsequently arrested and booked him into the Napa County jail for possible charges of felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
The other two drivers complained of pain and received treatment at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Officials have not made their names public.
