Timothy Jensen Dead, Erin Jaco Arrested after Motorcycle Accident on 19th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
Motorcyclist Timothy Jensen Fatally Struck by DUI Driver in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (November 18, 2020) – Authorities identified 58-year-old Timothy Jensen as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on 19th Avenue, Wednesday morning.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the incident happened at about 6:00 AM. Jensen stopped to make a left turn from northbound 19th Avenue to McDowell Road. Then, a southbound Toyota Prius failed to stop for a red light and hit the motorcyclist.
Emergency crews then rushed Jensen to a hospital, where he later died.
Authorities later arrested the Toyota driver, identified as 38-year-old Erin Jaco, because she displayed signs of impairment. She was then booked into Maricopa County Jail and charged with manslaughter.
Responding officers temporarily closed the intersection for an investigation.
Phoenix police continue to investigate the fatal crash.
