Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 805 Freeway [Serra Mesa, CA]

1 Dead in Fiery Motorcycle Crash on 805 Freeway near Kearny Villa Road

 
SERRA MESA, CA (November 23, 2020) – One person was killed in a fiery motorcycle crash on 805 Freeway, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 5:30 PM. For reasons still under investigation, a motorcyclist became involved in a crash on the northbound side of the freeway near Kearny Villa Road.
 
The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to catch fire.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Responders temporarily closed two left-hand northbound lanes of the freeway to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
