Officer and 2 Others Injured in Anaheim Collision on Brookhurst Street
ANAHEIM, CA (November 18, 2020) — A police officer and two other people suffered injuries in a collision on Brookhurst Street Monday afternoon.
According to the Anaheim police, at 5:00 p.m. they received reports of a rear-end crash involving a BMW SUV and an Acura SUV.
While two officers were standing outside the stopped SUVs and investigating the crash, a Honda Civic suddenly smashed into the back of the BMW. In the process, the Honda also struck one of the SUV drivers and one of the officers.
The officer and the driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They both received medical treatment at a hospital but have been released since Tuesday. Officials said the officer had a broken leg and needs more time to heal before returning to duty.
Meanwhile, the male driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the two incidents remains under investigation.
