Fatal San Jose Pedestrian Crash on North Capitol Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (September 27, 2020) – One person died in a pedestrian crash early Sunday morning in San Jose, police said.
The crash happened around 12:15 a.m. in the area of North Capitol Avenue and McKee Road.
According to San Jose police, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado struck an adult male pedestrian as he walked across the eastbound lanes of McKee Road, outside of a marked crosswalk.
Responding paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The man driving the pickup truck was unharmed. He remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim once family members are properly notified.
