Kyle Davis Dead in Foster City Motorcycle Accident on Highway 92 at San Mateo-Hayward Bridge
FOSTER CITY, CA (September 22, 2020) — A motorcyclist identified as 34-year-old Kyle Davis of Sacramento, died in a crash on Sunday, September 20.
According to CHP Officer Art Montiel, a BMW vehicle was stopped, disabled, in the slow lane of westbound Highway 92 on the high-rise section of San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. Then just before 10:00 a.m., a group of motorcyclists came upon the BMW.
While other motorcycles changed lanes and went around the disabled car, two struck the car from the back. The impact ejected the rider of one motorcycle into San Francisco Bay. The U.S. Coast Guard later recovered his body.
Medics rushed the driver and passenger of the second motorcycle to Stanford Medical Center for medical assistance of major injuries.
The driver and passenger of the BMW had previously left their car and then walked west on the bridge.
It was unknown Sunday night whether impairment played a role in this crash, Montiel said. Witnesses can call CHP Officer David Tran at (650) 369-6261.
