Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing into Sedan on Hillery Drive in Mira Mesa
MIRA MESA, CA (September 2, 2020) – A motorcyclist who died in a crash early this month in Mira Mesa has been identified.
The crash happened just before 2:00 p.m. September 2, in the 9200 block of Hillery Drive.
Police said Ryan Bannon, 26, was riding his 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Hillery Drive when he crashed into the passenger side of an oncoming 2000 Honda Accord that was making a turn.
The impact ejected Bannon from his bike and onto the roadway.
Arriving units rushed Bannon to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The driver of the Honda, a 63-year-old, was evaluated at the scene for complaint of pain.
Authorities do not believe alcohol played any role in the accident. The crash is still under investigation.
