Bicyclist Injured after DUI Crash on Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 16, 2020) — A 20-year-old was injured in a DUI accident on Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive around 6:47 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14.
Metro Police said the driver was in a Nissan pickup truck moving westbound on Sahara approaching the intersection. At the same time, the bicyclist rode eastbound in the roadway on Sahara. Then the rider turned left to northbound Durango.
The Nissan hit the bicyclist at the intersection. Medics transported her to UMC, where medical personnel determined her injuries to be life-threatening.
The 71-year-old female driver remained on the scene. However, the driver failed the sobriety tests. Officers booker her to the Clark County Detention Center.
Authorities closed the intersection for several hours during the on-scene investigation.
